Guitar Tricks By Dan Torres

Classic Vintage Stratocaster standard wiring

This does not need much explaination, it is the stock wiring of a 50's/60's Fender Stratocaster -
it is the basis for everything since.

250k Pots were used for the original wiring but it is not locked in stone.
500k will give a stronger, brighter tone. a more "modern" tone.

.05 (or .047) is the tone  control cap used on the old guitars, it is a little dark for these days. .
033 or .022 are better choices.  The capacitor is shared by the two tone pots.

The tone pots could be wired with separate
capacitors of different values for a wider range of tones.

Check out the PowerKaster and the
Torres Engineering BluesKaster series for advanced
versions of this wiring setup.

We have a Torres Volume Kit installed
on this  drawing. It is available at
Torres Engineering along with
a lot of other good stuff
